Excessive Developmental Study Hours
A public community college district may not receive funding for developmental coursework taken by a student in excess of 18 semester credit hours or the equivalent. Up to 9 additional semester credit hours of ESOL courses and/or interventions is allowed, bringing the maximum to 27 semester credit hours. Developmental hours funded by the state shall be counted toward the student’s total number of developmental hours at a given institution. CTC reserves the right to charge a higher tuition rate to students who attempt developmental study courses in excess of the 18 semester credit hours or equivalent or 27 if ESOL taken.
