Distance Education
In addition to classes offered at CTC locations around the world, Central Texas College offers a wide range of learning opportunities for distance learners from single online courses to complete online certificates and degrees. In fact, Central Texas College is one of the largest community colleges in the United States when it comes to distance education. Distance education courses are designed to be equivalent to the same course taught in a classroom. Distance education courses are transferable as face-to-face courses because they are taught by the same faculty, use the same textbooks, and require the same standards as face-to-face courses. Faculty teaching distance learning classes must meet the academic and professional preparation criteria of regional accreditation, the standards established by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board rules and regulations and licensure and approval requirements of applicable regulatory boards. Refer to https://online.ctcd.edu for more information on course offerings.
The distance learning programs and courses adhere to the rules and regulations of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).
